Senior High Mission Trip Update

The MPC Senior High Mission trip with the Appalachia Service Project to Newport, TN, was a Spirit-filled and meaningful week for our young people!  Our group was divided into two throughout the week, each working on a family’s home in desperate need of repair.  One team took up damaged flooring and tiled several rooms, put up drywall, and painted walls and ceilings; the other took apart a roof, fixed rotted wood, and shingled a new roof for a family of six who have had water streaming into their children’s room for quite some time.  Sleeping on the floor of an elementary school, eating modest meals, and showering outdoors with a hose proved to be a formative experience for our high school students and adult leaders.  Our young people raced to finish their projects and felt extremely proud of themselves for being able to help people in need- they represented MPC well and shared God’s love in profound ways!
