Christian worship is the glad response of the people of God for God's self-giving to us and to all the world in Jesus Christ. In it, we remember what God has done; give thanks for God's grace and mercy; nurtured in our faith and life and renewed for our service in the world. To worship God in Jesus Christ is to praise God. It is to acknowledge God's ultimate value in our lives and the poverty of our lives apart from God. And so, we pause, we turn, and together we offer our praise and thanks to the One who has created us, who redeems us, and who sustains us in every day of life. From the sanctuary we go forth to live out our worship in daily life.
There are three services of worship each Lord's Day at Memorial Presbyterian Church. The 8:30 a.m. service is an abbreviated form of the later service and a bit less formal. The 11:00 a.m. service includes the choir and other special music. The sermon for both services is the same. Both services are accompanied by our ninety rank Aeolian-Skinner pipe organ.
The 5:00 p.m. service, Ignite, is a contemporary service and is held in the Fellowship Hall. This service is the least formal of the services. Music for this service is provided by our praise band, Catalyst.
Visitors are always welcome and casual clothing is quite acceptable at any of the services. Please consider joining us soon for Sunday worship.
