Jamaica Medical Mission June 8-14, 2014
Each summer our Presbytery sends medical professionals to give a week in Jamaica for medical mission. Doctors, nurses, dentists and other health professionals from northeast Florida go to Jamaica to provide care in places in the country and inner cities where there is no care. They work in cooperation with the health ministry of Jamaica and three church denominations: the Jamaican United Church, the Jamaican Methodist Church, and the Jamaican Moravian Church. These churches provide their facilities and their support as the team works through the week. Usually 20-30 professionals go on this trip, giving of their time and expenses as a way to give back. Our churches in our presbytery provide the medicines and supplies for the week. If you would like to like to know more about the trip or would like to apply contact Richard Kirk (Committee Chair of Mutual Mission) email@example.com. Jim Bullock in our church has gone on these trips, is also on the committee, and can tell you more about this program (352-207-5587; firstname.lastname@example.org).
