Christmas International House (CIH)

Christmas International House (CIH)

Students from around God’s globe, but studying in USA, will be arriving Saturday, December 18th and will be staying until the first days of January.   These students have come to the U.S. to study, but university dorms close for the holidays leaving the students looking for accommodations and American experiences.  Started by some good West Virginia Presbyterians in 1965, CIH hosts invite international students to come stay in their community for a couple of weeks for new friends, fun, and fellowship. Our students are looking forward to 2 weeks in the Florida sunshine with American families and time away from studies.  Thank you to all the hosts who have agreed to provide beds and hospitality, but we still need more! If you are interested in being a host for one or two students for one week (Dec 26-Jan 2), please contact John Pritchard -797-7298. The committee continues to complete the daily calendar of activities and provide a special experience for all.  Mark your calendar especially for Thursday, Dec 20, 6:00 p.m. to come and enjoy the annual CIH Pot Luck Dinner at the church. All are invited. This is an opportunity to meet some of the students as well as share holiday warmth with church family.  Call John Pritchard, 797-7298, to volunteer to help (decorate, set up, cleanup) and/or bring food. Can you help with airport transportation – picking up or dropping off students on the December 18th or January 2nd ? Call Kathleen Steward – 794-5486. Are you approved to drive the church van and would like to host a group activity? Call Janet Lynn – 461-0278. What a great way to celebrate the holidays!!!
