Presbyterian Day School
I want to thank the congregation for your continued support, both spiritual and financial, of our church’s school, PDS. Most of your financial giving has gone to our scholarship fund as we currently have four children on partial or full scholarships who would not otherwise be able to attend a school like ours. One of our children started last year on a scholarship when he and his family lived at the St. Francis House. That family is now out of the shelter and in a more stable living arrangement, Mom has a job and Dad is learning a trade, and the child is blossoming. Another child is out of foster care and living with her great grandmother who is on a limited income. The state pays a portion of her tuition, Grandma pays a portion, and your financial support pays the rest. The little girl has grown immensely in the time she has been here and will now likely be a step ahead rather than two steps behind when she starts kindergarten. We also have a new family headed by a single mother making minimum wage. They are hoping to receive a partial scholarship of $145 month if we can find the funding, which will enable the child to stay longer hours and increase the time Mom can work.
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me,” and it is our mission to help young children from all walks of life grow emotionally, academically, and in their faith. We appreciate your prayers and donations so that we can continue to meet the needs of our diverse community.
