The caring ministry of Memorial Presbyterian Church is shared by the pastor, educator, visitation pastor, Deacons, and Prayer Chain participants. The members of our Board of Deacons focus exclusively on the biblical model of diaconal service especially as it is expressed in our Book of Order. "The office of deacon as set forth in Scripture is one of sympathy, witness, and service after the example of Jesus Christ . . . It is the duty of deacons, first of all, to minister to those who are in need, to the sick, to the friendless, and to any who may be in distress both within and beyond the community of faith." Each deacon is responsible for a cluster of MPC members and friends, staying in touch with each, communicating needs, and responding as appropriate.

Our Prayer Chain Ministry is an informal group of MPC members and friends who covenant to pray especially for those who request prayer. Prayer cards are available in the sanctuary pew racks and prayer requests can be communicated to the Prayer Chain participants by email through the pastor, j.weaverjr@memorialpcusa.org.

Memorial's Parish Health Advocate, Dee Dee Twombly, works with members in the church family with matters related to health care, nursing home decisions, advocacy, and helping members manage the maze of details associated with health care providers.
