From Pastor Davies – 1/10
Amy told her family that she had learned in school that we are all made of atoms. Her little brother, Andy, protested, “No, we’re not! I’m made of Adams; you’re made of Eves!”
What do you think of when you read the words “in the image of God?” What do you imagine God looks like? Most of us would shy away from saying that God looks like us. We might imagine a gentle teacher, perhaps like our favorite Sunday school teacher, a loving parent, or perhaps a king, sitting on a throne surrounded by angels.
But if God’s work is to be done here on earth, then God must look like me. God’s hands must be my hands. God’s feet must be my feet. God became flesh in Jesus Christ. Since God was manifested in Jesus, then He is manifested in me as well. I must live my life so that when others look at me, they see God. I must use my feet, my hands, my heart, and my resources to bring about God’s kingdom here on earth.
God, I was made in Your image. Use me to do Your will. Amen.
Have a blessed week serving the Lord. And see you in worship this Sunday.
