Session Summary

Memorial’s Session met for its monthly stated meeting last night and took a variety of actions. Among them were the adoption of budgets for the ministry of the church, the Board of Trustees, and Presbyterian Day School. The Session also approved the creation of aPastoral Transition Team to function in the time between the retirement of the pastor and the calling of an Interim Pastor. The team will be composed of the chairs of the Worship and Music, Christian Education, Youth, Outreach, Stewardship and Administration ministries and the Clerk of Session. In addition, the Session acted to authorize our Associate Pastor to function as interim head of staff, administer the Burt Fund, administer the Local Mission Fund, oversee the wedding ministry, speak on behalf of the church, and provide a preaching schedule for Sundays during the time between the pastor’s retirement and the arrival of an Interim Pastor. The Session also approved receiving an offering for the St. Johns Ecumenical Food Pantry at a time to be determined on the church calendar.
